Honoring the Voices of Healthcare
The BREATHE project is a series of “film shorts” in the making. Each short is written by a healthcare worker sharing an inspiring, personal story about their experiences caring for others. It is not a documentary. It is an opportunity to cinematically share healthcare workers’ unique experiences where science and art create a viewing experience we can all hold in our hearts. The pediatrician who realizes she has miscarried her baby moments before she returns to her shift. The nurse who is now the patient on the operating table. The labor and delivery nurse who cares for expectant mothers through the unimaginable loss of their babies before they are ever held for the first time. There are so many untold stories that need to be shared. Healthcare workers are not immune to the same life experiences as their patients. These films allow them to share their humanity. Sharing is healing—for the storyteller and the listener alike. This project is an opportunity to share the inner world of caregivers on a global scale.
The Only Soap supports this project and future projects. It’s our own way of Honoring Voices of Healthcare.
